GED
The General Educational Development (GED) is a battery of 5 tests consisting of Language Arts Writing, Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies. The GED test is designed for adults who, for some reason, did not graduate from high school but need a certificate equivalent to the traditional high school diploma. It is recommended that students first take a practice test to determine level of preparedness.
- A GED Practice test is offered at Hamilton Adult Center three times each month. Students must pay a fee of $15 and register for the practice in person during office hours.
- The GED Exam is offered once a month and spaces are limited. Students must provide a valid and current California picture ID when registering for the exam.
- The fee for the exam is $150 cash or money order, no credit card or checks, and must be paid at the time of registration. Spaces cannot be reserved without payment of fees.
- Registration is based on available space.
For individuals with disabilities, special accommodations are available. Contact the Hamilton Center at 310-972-6500 ext. 8400.
